Starting a business is difficult, the marketing shouldn't be.
Below is some 5 keys things all businesses should be doing to ensure
they get the most out their online presence.
TIP 1:
Build Yourself A Google My Business Page
A common misconception is that it costs money to build a Google My Business
page. WRONG — don’t let companies trick you into believing this. It’s
an incredibly simple process that can take just minutes to set up.
Google My Business is like an online business card for your company.
GMB helps local customers find, trust, and contact your business quickly
and easily when searching for you by business name.
Optimising it for search engines and helping it climb higher in the Google
Maps rankings does require additional work. We can help you with this.

TIP 2:
Don’t Neglect Social Media.
If I had £1 for every time a client has told me, “But Nick, my customers
don’t use social media,” I’d have enough to put my heating on…
You might be surprised to know the average age of a Facebook user is
32 — and this number keeps climbing.
The 25–34 age bracket makes up the largest proportion of users
on the Book of Face.
People spend hours every day on platforms like Facebook,
Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Social media lets your business
show up where attention already exists — instead of trying to pull
people somewhere new. You’re not interrupting; you’re joining the
conversation.
TIP 3:
Go Out and Purchase Your Ideal Domain & Business Email
Having your desired www address is always a bonus! However, it might
already be taken, so I suggest checking its availability through providers like
123 Reg or GoDaddy and purchasing it for a small fee today.
My advice: stick with something that isn’t too long and includes your business
name or is clearly relevant to your company. Also, choose .co.uk over .com
or .net where appropriate.
Remember, buying a domain doesn’t mean you instantly have
a website — that still needs to be built, hosted, and managed properly.
TIP 4:
Go Out & Ask For Reviews!
The power of reviews is unrivalled — you wouldn’t book a holiday without
looking at the hotel’s reviews, so why would your clients be any different?
Your work may speak for itself, but new clients don’t know that yet.
Be loud, be proud, and be proactive in encouraging the collection of reviews.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink. Sadly, this is
often the challenge with collecting reviews. Therefore, making the journey
as easy as possible for your customers is a must.
Send review requests, link your Google My Business page in your emails,
or create a review QR code. (https://www.qrcode-monkey.com/ is a good
site for the latter)
Reviews also have an incredibly positive impact on your search engine rankings.
